Croke Park Skyline Tour

Are you ready for a 17-storey high? Yesterday Sharon and I were lucky enough to be invited out to Croke Park to experience the Skyline Tour.

Located right in the heart of the city, this thrilling rooftop walkway is actually Dublin’s highest open-viewing platform and offers breathtaking panoramic views of Ireland’s vibrant capital from the mountains to the sea.

This Dublin City tour highlights all of the capital’s main landmarks while giving you an insight into its heartfelt history, told by our uniquely charming tour guide, Cian. Marvel at the sites and sounds of Dublin and enjoy hearing about the Capital City from a unique and personal perspective. In times gone by I could tell you more about Villamoura in Portugal than my own hometown so, I particularly enjoyed learning secrets about places that I didn’t know. It also allowed me to be a bit of a know-it-all with friends on a recent walk.

Then of course there’s the highlight – the incredible view from the platform that’s suspended over the Croke Park pitch itself. Expect a rush of adrenaline, a choir of screeches, and a rather wobbly tummy as you walk around this. But make sure to stop for a selfie or photo as a shot like this will be hard to acquire anywhere else on the grounds!

Having been closed for the entirety of the year thus far, it was really heartwarming to see the staff of Croke Park being able to open their doors again although things were looking a little different. Obviously, the tour has been changed a little bit to adhere to covid precautions. Masks are to be worn by the guide and visitors throughout the tour and there are plenty of hand sanitiser dispensers around also.

Included in the tour pass, you are granted access to the GAA museum. Get ready to immerse yourself in the spine-tingling and completely unique story of Gaelic games from ancient times to the present day.

This museum is like no other sporting museum you’ll ever visit. It not only celebrates the history of Ireland’s national games, but it also vividly brings to life how the GAA has contributed to our cultural, social, and sporting heritage. Featured exhibitions include the original Sam Maguire and Liam MacCarthy Cups, the Hall Of Fame, and much more.

As tours go this exceeded expectations and I’d recommend it to couples, groups, and families. Stories on the tour are unique so we didn’t want to publish them, so go check them out for yourself.

The tour is very affordable at €21 for adults, €13 for children (4 Foot height restriction), €19 for student, and 2 family deals at €54 and €62 which you can book here.
