Ballyhass Lakes weekend getaway

As the summer holidays come to an end, there is still lots of time left for fun activities that include the whole family.

Ballyhass Lakes

Based in Co. Cork, Ballyhass Lakes is one of Ireland’s premier outdoor experience providers. It has two main adventure centres – one in Coachford and one in Mallow.

There really is something for everyone as both centres offer over 15 different adventure activities from kayaking, paddle boarding and rock climbing. At Coachford, you can try out axe-throwing or an obstacle-type race. It has also recently opened a high net course, the first of its kind in Ireland.

Mallow is more aerial-based with zip lines, high ropes, and rock climbing areas as well as all the other usual summer activities.

Aquapark Activities

Another big attraction to visit is the Aquapark. Think floating inflatable wipeout course with climbing walls, balance logs, trampolines, 3m slides, and lots more. Up to 50 people can go on for any given session.

For individuals, there is a wakeboarding park in both centres where you can try out Europe’s fastest-growing watersport. Offering two straight-line wakeboarding systems with over seven different obstacles, you can try it out firsthand or receive one-on-one coaching.

There is a one-day camp option available for kids at the Lakes across June, July, and August. For €35, campers get a mix of archery, kayaking, and time in the water over four hours.
