For all Game of Thrones fans, a studio tour offers a day out that is full of adventure and magic. It is an opportunity to get an insight into, and experience every little detail, prop, costumes and weaponry that made the show so special. Recently, our team member here at Travel2Ireland took the studio tour in Northern Ireland, and had a most wonderful experience.

If you are a fan too and have always wanted to go behind the scenes of your favourite TV series, here’s what you can expect. There are iconic sets, props and weapons, costumes, special effects, interactive displays and much more.

At the stunning sets, you can walk in the footsteps of the stars as you step inside this real-life TV studio and explore how those epic moments came to life on screen. You can also be at the home of the Night’s Watch, see inside the Mess Hall, step up to the Commander’s Table and peak inside the Commander’s Chamber, where the red woman Melisandre famously brought Jon Snow back to life.

Does the very mention of Jon Snow get you all happy and excited? Well, what if we told you that the tour has plenty of hidden secrets? What if you were able to find Jon Snow’s ‘TRAITOR’ sign or Daenerys’ dragon eggs? Or feast your eyes on the weapons from the series, from Jon Snow’s Valyrian steel sword Longclaw to the Catspaw dagger that recently featured in the Game of Thrones prequel series ‘House of the Dragon.’

And whilst you are there, don’t forget to take a good beak and indulge yourself at the two onsite cafes.

Their Studio Café seated restaurant is positioned at the centre of the tour and has a wide range of hearty meals, from mouth-watering burgers to a range of vegan and vegetarian options.

If you would prefer something lighter then hit the Lobby Café for a selection of sandwiches, toasties, hot beverages and sweet treats.

But whatever you do, don’t forget to capture these truly special memories by taking lots of photographs, and of course the one that matters the most! That is, taking a picture whilst you are perched on the replica throne that shows that you had a go at ruling from most powerful seat in all of Westeros!
