The second part of a four-part piece on some of the more special spots to stay around the country this summer. Unfortunately, these stunning locations are out of my jurisdiction at the moment, but hopefully, I will be able to visit them all soon!
Clare:
A quirky and cozy converted horse truck on a traditional Irish farm in The Burren, Co Clare, just off the Wild Atlantic Way, near the Cliffs of Moher, The Aran Islands and Galway City. Hosting up to Six guests and with One bedroom and Three beds, you are in for a tight squeeze but a squeeze well worth it! Warm and bright inside. The Burren is a unique place where you can enjoy spectacular geology, archaeology, scenery, history and heritage and music traditions. With a BBQ right out the door also, what else more could you want from a destination?
Cork:
Stay in this cozy Log cabin located in Araglin, Cork. The cabin is wonderfully comfortable with all necessary amenities, including Three bedrooms, Three beds and One Bathroom. You can barbeque and sit outside and enjoy the impressive views. The big draw for me on this location is that it is built on an animal sanctuary. You can travel around the area and make some new animal friends. An Ideal spot for animal Lovers.
Kerry:
Farmyard Lane succeeds to balance the experience of brand-new luxury pods with a mature farm. Located in the beautiful Reeks District in County Kerry, nestled in the Orchard, are two ensuite pods which can each sleep up to four people, each have a double and sofa bed and are equipped with a small kitchen. There is a small deck and seats are provided for sitting outside. The pod experience is something that everybody should try at least once. I strongly recommend this one.
Limerick:
The Art Truck is permanently parked in the Galtee Mountains with a well-stocked kitchen, bathroom, living room/bedroom, balcony with mountain views as well as an outside fire area with BBQ and hot tub. The main room has a bed with beautiful views of the Galtee Mountains, there is also a large bed above the cab for any extra guests you might pick up on the way. The idea of turning a truck into this wonderfully designed campervan is such a cool and unique idea; it was sure fire going to make this list.
Tipperary:
Beautifully restored coach house close to Lough Derg and surrounded by woodland. Convenient for boating, fishing and hill walking. The converted coach house is extremely pretty to gaze at on your arrival with the old style look but up to date living areas, with one bed, one bedroom and all the amenities you need, it would be another gorgeous get away for you and your partner this summer.
Waterford:
This location is super unique, Guilcagh Church screams luxury while also feeling like you are doing something extra special while also experiencing a calm, cool gothic atmosphere. Set in a sun-drenched wilderness, with a south facing terrace – ideal for evening drinks. It proves comfort and luxury through every level. The living space is heated by an oversized wood burning stove, fuelled with fresh logs gathered from the farm – should you wish to curl up and snuggle for the evening. An awesome idea for a unique experience, definitely in my top 3.
