Dublin Pride is set to be a fantastic celebration of unity, diversity, and inclusivity, offering a range of free events that invite everyone to join in the festivities.

As one of the most anticipated Pride events in Europe, Dublin Pride continues to champion the spirit of equality and community, ensuring that no one is left out of the celebration. Here are some of the standout free events you can look forward to at this year’s Dublin Pride.

Pride Parade

The highlight of Dublin Pride, the Pride Parade, will take place on June 29, 2024. This colorful procession will start at the Garden of Remembrance and make its way through the city, ending at Merrion Square. The parade will feature a diverse array of floats, performers, and community groups, all coming together to celebrate LGBTQ+ rights and visibility. Spectators can enjoy the parade from various vantage points along the route, making it a truly inclusive event.

Pride Village

After the parade, the celebrations continue at the Pride Village in Merrion Square. This lively area will be filled with stalls from local LGBTQ+ organizations, food vendors, and entertainment stages. Visitors can enjoy live music, drag performances, and speeches from community leaders. The Pride Village is an excellent place to meet new people, learn about LGBTQ+ initiatives, and soak in the festive atmosphere.

The Danish Girl at the Chester Beatty

To celebrate the Dublin Pride Festival, the Chester Beatty will transform into a movie theatre for one night only to offer a free screening of the award-winning biopic, The Danish Girl. Follow the life of transgender pioneer Lili Elbe and soak up the atmosphere in one of the city’s most historic locations.

Pride Art Exhibition

Art lovers can look forward to the Pride Art Exhibition, showcasing works by LGBTQIA+ artists. This free exhibition will be hosted at the National Gallery of Ireland in the courtyard, and will run throughout the month of June. The exhibition will feature a wide range of mediums, including painting, sculpture, and photography, highlighting the creativity and talent within the community.

Voguing Workshop

The Haus of Schiaparelli with instructors MC Taboo and Jugu Telfar Miyake Mugler have touched down to give the Dublin community a rundown on the rich historical context for Ballroom as pioneered by Black and Brown queer people in New York (particularly trans-femmes) and the evolution of the tradition as we know it today. They will also be providing a beginner’s dance workshop and showing us how this respected artform is done.

Dublin Pride is set to be an absolute blast, with a variety of free events ensuring that everyone can participate. Whether you’re marching in the parade, enjoying live performances, or looking to have some good discussions, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. Join Dublin in celebrating love, diversity, and pride this June!
