Touchdown Ireland! American Football Returns to the Aviva Stadium

Georgia Tech will return to Ireland next week for the second time since 2016, when they defeated Boston College by 17 points to 14 in the Aviva Stadium. Florida State University, known as the Seminoles, will play their first game in Ireland next week. The Aer Lingus College Football Classic will be held at the magnificent Aviva Stadium, which also held the 2012 Emerald Isle Classic between the University of Notre Dame and U.S. Naval Academy, as well as the 2016 Aer Lingus College Football Classic between Boston College and Georgia Tech.

Aer Lingus are proud sponsors of the double header with ‘The Fighting Irish’ playing in the second of the two games they open their 2023 season against rival Navy as part of the Football Series in Dublin. The University of Notre Dame, the Naval Academy and Irish American Events Limited are partnering to take an American Football game to Aviva Stadium in Dublin for a Week Zero game on Aug. 26, 2023 at 7.30pm local time.
