Inhale…hold…exhale…this Friday the 21st of June is International Yoga Day, coinciding with the longest day of the year, the Summer Solstice. In celebration, we’ve combined the best yoga events and activities on this Friday.

Grianstad an tSamhraidh – Summer Solstice Sunrise Yoga

Start International Yoga Day off right with a sunrise yoga experience in Phoenix Park at 4.30am. Yoga Flow will be guided by Bláthnaid Ní Smaolaigh of IMBAS Yoga – as Gaeilge.

The poses in Yoga are all based on stories in the Indian pantheon, and telling stories is in our nature on this island. To celebrate the shortest day of the year, you will rise with the sun, and embody the powerful postures.

The exact location in the park is secret, but will be revealed upon booking. Visit eventbrite.ie for more information.

Summer Solstice Sunrise Celebration – yoga, local plant walk and sauna

Come join Laura Holly and Gina Reilly for a magical morning mini-retreat to celebrate the longest day of the year! Start your day with an invigorating yoga session with Gina Reilly as the sun rises on the summer solstice. Afterwards, Laura from Sugarloaf Botanics will guide you on a local plant walk, foraging edible and medicinal plants along the coast, learning more about the wealth of plants surrounding us and their uses.

Option to dip in the sea here too for those who want to! Finally, unwind and relax in the Barrel Sauna, followed by a light and delicious breakfast in the Boatyard. An invigorating and nourishing way to celebrate and start the longest day of the year!
