Three Irish Restaurants Win Michelin Bib Gourmand Awards

We all love to indulge in a night of luxurious dining every now and again, and you can’t go wrong with a Michelin-starred restaurant. But what about those of us on a budget? The Michelin Bib Gourmand award recognises restaurants of exceptionally high quality, but at a reasonable price – so you can treat yourself without breaking the bank.

The Michelin Guide to Great Britain and Ireland 2022 will be published next week, with three restaurants in the Republic of Ireland claiming the Bib Gourmand award. The three restaurants have been notified of their awards ahead of time, while previous winners will have to wait for the Michelin Guide release next Wednesday (16 February) to find out if they’ll be holding on to their awards.

Here are the latest additions – we can’t wait to try them out!

Everett’s, Waterford

This restaurant in Ireland’s oldest city is bound to impress. With fabulous meals at affordable prices, you can enjoy some fine dining at Everett’s. The restaurant has two separate dining areas – the bright and spacious Front Room and the intimate Vault.

History is around every corner, with elements dating back to the 1460s. The restaurant is in the former home of James Rice, the eleven-times mayor of Waterford. With an exquisite menu, you can head in at lunch or dinner time and see for yourself what all the fuss is about.

Éan Wine Bar, Galway

This is a truly special spot right in the centre of Galway City. Éan bakery, restaurant and wine bar serves fabulous bakes, lunches and sharing plates with sustainability at the heart of it all. Using seasonal ingredients, each dish is designed with care to offer you the very best dining experience.

The restaurant’s extensive wine list has been carefully curated to complement your meal, so you know you’re in good hands. Éan’s wines are sources from small-scale winemakers, and consist of organic, biodynamic and natural varieties.

Cush, Ballycotton, County Cork

On the working pier of Ballycotton, the sleek and stylish Cush is the perfect spot for a delectable seaside meal. The pub, restaurant and family-run guesthouse has much to offer, with a fabulous menu of seasonal dishes unlike any pub grub you’ve had before.

With an authentically Irish menu, Cush serves top quality dishes made from local and sustainably sourced produce. You can choose from some mouth-watering fish and meat dishes, promising to be just as delicious as they look.
