The Lodge at Ashford Castle has been announced as the top ‘Wedding Hotel’ at the recent Gay Travel Awards.
The four-star hotel, located within the grounds of the Ashford Castle Estate, was one of just 23 leading LGBTQ and inclusive businesses selected for an award from over a hundred finalists from across the world.
Peter Fergus, Hotel Manager at The Lodge at Ashford Castle said:
‘We are over the moon to be named the top Wedding Hotel at the Gay Travel Awards. The Lodge at Ashford is part of Red Carnation Hotels’ IDEA programme, which is an initiative committed to making each participating hotel an inclusive space for all regardless of race, belief, different abilities or sexuality. At the core of IDEA is the belief that a fully integrated and accepting workforce is good for business and great for our guests, ensuring that everyone is celebrated, and no one gets ‘left behind’ but rather, is part of our extended family. We would like to thank GayTravel for recognising our dedication to inclusion.”
GayTravel Chief Visionary Officer Steve Rohrlick said:
“For their exemplary LGBTQ inclusivity, along with their warm, welcoming staff, The Lodge at Ashford Castle takes the cake. On behalf of GayTravel and LGBTQ travellers worldwide, we heartily congratulate them for topping the ‘wedding’ category.”
