We may be “a few weeks” away from learning of this year’s Electric Picnic line-up, but elsewhere the announcements keep coming.
Legendary UK rockers The Cult – led by singer Ian Astbury and guitarist Billy Duffy – have just been added to the already bulging line-up for this year’s Forest Fest Music Festival, in Co Laois, which will be the sole Irish date on the band’s 29-date European Tour in celebration of their 40th anniversary.
Forest Fest Music Music & Arts Weekend is back for its third year during the weekend of July 19 – 21, 2024. Taking place in perhaps, the aptly named Emo Village in Co Laois, the line up is a mix of contemporary and old skool magic.
1990s and noughties big-hitters like The Cult, EMF, Stereo MCs and Ocean Colour Scene take to the main stage alongside the likes of local band, Coolboys and one of Ireland’s most up and coming bands Grooveline- described by Hotpress Magazine as having ”……the precision of Vulfpeck, the coolness of Parliament and the energy of James Brown”
As well as the music, the festival will showcase family entertainment, circus and street theatre, award-winning street food, drumming workshops, maker area, craft beers, cocktail bar, and a fun fair with loads to do for big and small.

There’s no charge for children 12 and under and they also go free to the festival, once accompanied by an adult with a weekend ticket.
