This week, take a trip to Drumshanbo, County Leitrim and visit Ireland’s first floating boardwalk at Acres Lake.
The boardwalk reaches 600m across the lake and is the beginning of a 6.5km walking and cycling trail along the Shannon Blueway. The Blueway leads walkers from Acres Lake to Battlebridge Lock, near Leitrim Village.
Stop along the way for short break or even a picnic to take in the scenery of the lake and surrounding area.
