Red Line Festival has returned this week in its 11th year, with more than 40 events in performance venues around south Dublin to appeal to all ages.

This lively celebration of Ireland’s great literary heritage runs from October 13 to 16 and holds events at Pearse Museum, Rathfarnham Castle, and Baldonnel Aerodrome as well libraries across South County Dublin.

Red Line Festival honours all things literary; written, spoken, played, sung and illustrated.

This year, the festival has expanded to include interests outside of the written word and other cultural events such as theatre, music and sport are included- so no taste is left out!

For those who enjoy true crime, a riveting new Crime and Horror attraction has been added. The line-up includes ‘Tales from the Fraud Squad’ with Former Superintendent Willie McGee, Head of the Garda Fraud Squad with extraordinary stories of elaborate forgeries, outrageous insurance scams and intricate crimes.

Bestselling crime fiction authors Sam Blake, Catherine Ryan Howard, Louise Philips and E.V. Kelly will discuss the inspirations behind their books at a fascinating event titled ‘Criminal Intent’. Paul Williams, Ex-State Pathologist Marie Cassidy and Private Investigator Patrick Marry will present a chilling and riveting discussion about crime in Ireland.

This lovely festival is produced by South Dublin Libraries and Arts at South Dublin County Council, offering a programme of workshops and events that appeals to children and adults alike.
