‘No Place Like Home’ Returns for Second Season

Kathryn Thomas will host No Place Like Home for its second consecutive year.

Fáilte Ireland and RTÉ One television have teamed up for the second year running to show the nation that there’s ‘No Place Like Home’ when it comes to holidays.  

Hosted by television presenter Kathryn Thomasthe travel series will air every Sunday at 6:30pm, starting from 22 August. Each 30-minute programme will showcase regions across Ireland, highlighting the incredible range of things to see and do. 

This year, Kathryn will explore the Wild Atlantic Way, making her way from Donegal to West Cork. Meanwhile, special guests including Tolü Makay and Maïa Dunphy visit destinations such as Kilkenny, The Shannon and Dublin. Each episode will also feature special live segments from locations across the country. 

Niall Tracey, Director of Marketing at Fáilte Ireland said:  “The ‘No Place Like Home’ series proved extremely popular last year. It is fantastic to be collaborating with RTÉ once again to encourage people to take breaks at home this autumn.”

What to Expect

In the first episode,  Kathryn starts her journey at Malin Head, before making her way down the coast to explore the beautiful beaches of Donegal. After visiting the Wild Ireland Sanctuary, she takes daughter Ellie on a walk across the Fairy Bridges in Bundoran. A special live segment will air from Blacksod Lighthouse, Co. Mayo.

She then makes her way to the Aran Islands, taking in the sights of Inis Mór, where she goes diving in the Atlantic Ocean and glamps overnight on the island. A live segment will air from the Irish Museum of Modern Art, IMMA in Dublin.

Next Kathryn explores the Burren and Co. Clare, visiting Doolin Cave and swimming at Spanish Point. A live segment will air from the Lafcadio Hearn Japanese Gardens, Co. Waterford.

Finishing up in West Cork, Kathryn goes kayaking in Baltimore before visiting Sherkin Island, Inis Beg, Ballydehob and Mizen Head. A live segment will air from Lough Key Forest Park, Co. Roscommon.
