Our favourite things to do in Waterford – We loved our trip to the Mahon Waterfalls as well as taking in the different sights and sounds of the city. While in the city, we visited Reginald’s Tower (we were lucky, it was free entry on the day we were there), took in the various sculptures, including King of the Vikings. The trip to Mahon Waterfalls was one of the highlights of our trip, even though it was raining. See picture below. Isn’t the place just gorgeous?

Our favourite things to do in Killarney: Obviously no one goes to Killarney and doesn’t do the Killarney National Park or some part of it. So that can be the first thing on your list. But what really stole our heart was our trip to The Gap of Dunloe and we really recommend this to everyone who visits Ireland. Recently, our cousin was here, and was going to be in Killarney and he didn’t have the Gap of Dunloe on his itinerary. He was so happy we recommended it. You could take a jaunting car, or walk up the way – it’s really so gorgeous that words quite can’t do justice to it.

St. Patrick’s Day Hotel breaks with Sandymount Hotel, Dublin

Sandymount Hotel can be the perfect base for your Dublin city break offering you the warmest of welcomes and exceptional service in the peaceful surroundings of Sandymount and Ballsbridge Village. Of course, you could be travelling from within Ireland and still prefer the Sandymount because of its location. It’s right next to the AVIVA Stadium and Landsdowne Rd Dart Station.

You can enjoy a meal in their Whitty’s Restaurant and Garden Terrace followed by a post dinner drink in the Line Out Bar or relaxing surroundings of the Herbert Suite. It makes for a nearly perfect weekend break; you can take in the different events and celebrations as well as just relax by grabbing an ice cream at the beach or go in for a nice burger (try BuJo Burgers at Sandymount.)

Our favourite things to do in Sandymount: has to be catching the sunrise over the Sandymount beach. I often drag my husband out of the bed early in the morning, and fill a thermos with hot, steaming ginger-flavoured chai. Then we drive to Sandymount, find a parking spot and watch the sun emerge from his sleep. The pictures, I tell you, they drive people crazy with envy! See below.

Saint Patrick’s Festival at Osprey Hotel

Osprey Hotel is located in the vibrant town of Naas. It has plenty of offers, but you may want to check out the St. Patrick’s Day one. There’s a lovely spa at the Hotel, and so it’s kind of perfect if you want to head for a bit of shopping at Kildare Village and then relax with some pampering treatments.

Book offer here.

What can you do in Naas? Well, it so happens that there’s plenty on offer. One of our friends bought a house there, and we already have a list of things that we could do if we stay the night over at Naas. We were thinking of taking in a trip to the National Stud and Japanese Gardens on our way back from Naas to Dublin. On the other hand, if I go with my girlfriends for the St. Patrick’s weekend, we might find ourselves at the Kildare Village. Shopping is a therapy, even if all you do is window-shop!

What can you do in Galway: The question is, what is that you cannot? From the cathedral, to the pulsating night-life, to food festivals and a very vibrant food and drinks scene, Galway has it all. It is also the perfect base to plan your trip to Kylemore Abbey and Connemara National Park. We did both, and stopped so many times for photographs like the one below!
