About the 2022 Festive Market
For Christmas 2022 the City of the Tribes will be sparkling with the magnificent Galway Christmas Market from 6pm on Friday 11th November until Thursday 22nd December 2022.
The Galway Continental Christmas Market received over 350,000 visitors in 2021 and there were more than 50 wooden chalets located Eyre Square along with the Big Wheel, Carousel, Santa’s Grotto, the German Bier Keller along with numerous other theatrical delights throughout the four-week fair.
Christmas Market Opening Hours
Monday – Wednesday: 12 noon – 8pm (bar until 10pm)
Thursday – Saturday: 10am – 10pm
Sunday: 10am – 8pm
The 2022 Christmas Market is the thirteenth year of the market in Galway and visitors can expect to enjoy a wide variety of entertainment and stalls located in Eyre Square in Galway City centre. It is expected that this year will once again feature amusement rides including a 32-metre-high Big Wheel and traditional Carousel, Santa’s Express Train, live music performers, puppet shows, storytelling, school choirs, and a Santa’s Grotto to be run by local charities.
Food lovers can feast on a bratwurst, French pastries, pretzels or confectionery, crêpes and waffles, while families and friends can enjoy a walk through the enchanted light gardens providing the backdrop for a Christmas Market photo, stop off at Santa’s postbox, interact with local charities and much more.
The 2022 Market will also feature artisan food products and Christmas gift ideas from both local and European traders.
