If you like luxury and camping, it’s no secret that glamping is your answer. This news, is perhaps then right up your alley, especially if you’re a glamping enthusiast.

Sustainable glamping company, Further Space has announced the opening of its luxurious new site in one of County Mayo’s most breathtakingly beautiful settings.

Launched recently, the Belmullet site is Further Space’s tenth location and its first situated on the world-famous Wild Atlantic Way. The four fully-furnished pods are perfectly located for a coastal family holiday or getaway with friends.

The capital of the Gaeltacht region of Erris on Mayo’s Mullet Peninsula, Belmullet is famed for its golden beaches, rugged sea cliffs and picturesque mountains which offer some of the most stunning panoramas you will find anywhere in Ireland. A perfect location then, if you glamping in Ireland was on your bucket-list.

Further Space, which now has 10 luxury glamping sites across Northern Ireland, Scotland and the Republic of Ireland works in partnership with landowners on sustainable diversification projects. The micro-tourism company, which recently launched two new partnership models, hand-picked the Belmullet location and is confident the new site will be popular with tourists.

Landowner, James Lavelle, said he is proud to be able to share this beautiful part of Ireland’s west coast with visitors.

He said: “This is a very special area where people can come and enjoy a beautiful natural place practically untouched by development. It really is one of the jewels in the crown along the Wild Atlantic Way.

“You can visit some of our local beauty spots such as the Inishkea Islands, Dun na mBo and walk across the golden sands of Blacksod Bay as you feel the revitalising spray of the Atlantic Ocean on your face.

“Belmullet provides the perfect balance of solitude, escaping into nature, hiking and water sports activities. But, if taking a dip in the bracing turquoise waters of the Atlantic isn’t your thing we are also just a short walk to the local bar where you can always enjoy an evening of ‘craic agus ceol’”

Further Space Co-Founder, David Maxwell is thrilled to announce the company’s further expansion in Ireland.

David said: “We are delighted to be working with James for our first location in Mayo. Belmullet is one of those places which just takes your breath away and when we first saw the site we knew it would be perfect for Further Space.

“We pride ourselves on locating our pods in unique places which help people reconnect with nature while boosting their health and wellbeing. Belmullet ticks all the boxes.

“I know people will love the experience of sitting outside their pod and warming themselves by the fire pit or toasting marshmallows as the sun sets before waking up to the stunning Atlantic sky sunrise.

“We go to great lengths to offer ‘more than’ experiences at all of our Further Space sites and when our explorers choose to stay with us, they are also supporting the development of the local environment and community. Our spaces preserve cultural and natural heritage in rural areas supporting sustainable micro-tourism and promoting the welfare of the local community.”

The stylish and super-comfortable pods at Belmullet Glamping are cleverly designed to allow space for a sofa area in the day and murphy-style Queen size folding bed for the evening. They also include an ensuite shower room, a bunk room and a kitchenette.
