The Twelve Hotel are Top Dog when it comes to VIPs (Very Important Pooches)
The Twelve Hotel in Barna have added another prestigious award to their trophy cabinet as they won Best Pet Hotel of The Year 2021 at the recent Georgina Campbell Awards.
Dog-friendly since the day they opened their doors over 14 years ago, Fergus O’Halloran and the team at The Twelve roll out the red carpet for every four-legged guest that enters this boutique hotel in the pretty village of Barna.
With a Pet Lobby at check-in decked out with water bowl, treats, leashes and a cosy armchair for a quick pet-selfie, it’s the perfect pit stop before checking in to one of the three spacious pet-friendly suites where your best friend can order from the Pet Menu and enjoy the best bits of the Pampered Pet Programme including a ‘doggie-bag’ of treats and toys, clean-up bags for walks, maps of the local wooded trails and more.
“We’re delighted to be named Best Pet Hotel of The Year at the Georgina Campbell Awards for 2021. Having The Twelve as a pet-friendly property was never a question for us, we know that dogs are part of the family and often the best behaved of the family too when they are on their hols.
So, we love to be able to welcome them here and add all the little extras so that every dog and their humans have a wonderful stay with us,’ says Fergus O’Halloran, General Manager at The Twelve. “Whether you’re travelling with a dog or not, we find all our guests enjoy seeing a little fluffy face at breakfast or watching a happy chappy coming back through the doors after a run on the beach – everyone wins!”
The Twelve were named Georgina Campbell Hotel of the Year in 2018 and have racked up plenty of awards in the meantime too. In 2021 alone Fergus and the team have been named among the top 25 hotels in Ireland on Trip Advisor, the funky outdoor terrace, Nóin was among the Irish Times best outdoor dining spaces, and they added yet another Wine Spectator Award to the mix for their interesting wine list.
