Tailtiu Coffee at Teltown House

Scholars Townhouse Hotel in Drogheda have a summer picnic hamper for two to take away for €35. They also have Afternoon Tea available seven days a week available for take away (€25.00 PP / €30 PP with Prosecco) or can be served on the Terrace Area (€30 PP / €35 PP with Prosecco) from the 7th June. The afternoon tea offering mixes great food with an authentic setting so you can enjoy a three-tier menu of sandwiches, sweet treats and scones, all freshly made by their in-house pastry chef.

Distillery Delight

Perhaps you could take a trip to the village of Monasterboice – renowned for its fine High Crosses. It’s well worth taking a look at them before visiting Listoke Distillery to pick up some of their amazing small batch gin. In advance of travelling, check to see if there is availability at the Gin School where you can take a tour of the distillery and make your own bottle of gin to take home! Enjoy some locally produced meats and cheese while you wait for the pot stills to work their magic. For your evening meal, why not visit the Monasterboice Inn where you get avail of a takeaway meal. Steak and scampi are house specialties, but the broad menu caters for all tastes.

Irish Coffee

Maybe a coffee with a delicious treat is what you’re looking for? Well, Teltown House – a beautiful 17th-century country house on 290 acres in the heart of the Boyne Valley – have recently opened a new cafe called “Tailtiú” in the courtyard, serving barista essence coffee and treats. Teltown, situated on the northern banks of the river Balckwater, is an ancient royal assembly site near where the historical Tailteann Games were held for centuries. Currently open Sat/Sun and Bank Holidays from 11am-5pm, Teltown House offers a new family experience to explore and enjoy. Little ones can also explore the fairy trail and visit the animals on site.

Farmer’s Market

The Farmer’s Market at Rock Farm Slane is now open each Thursday from 11am- 4pm with plans to run an extended farmer’s market during the summer. This will be almost like a Night Market, with the addition of more food offerings from both Rock Farm and some amazing food trucks. Once glamping and accommodation returns to Rock Farm, they will also be offering some outdoor dining options for guests. This will include providing ingredients to guests who can then host their own dinner party.

Boyne Valley BBQ Box

Now you can bring the flavours of the Boyne Valley right to your back garden. The Boyne Valley BBQ Box will be launching at the end of May. This tasty BBQ box, serves four people and will provide you with a main, sides, condiments, dessert & drink. 11 producers are involved including Rock Farm Slane, Dexter Burgers, Boyne Valley Cheese and Great Northern Larder Scotch Sauce to name a few. Cost is €80 including delivery.

Gourmet Treats

You can stay at the Station House Hotel in Meath and experience its ‘Boyne Valley Tasting Menu Evening’. You’ll get overnight accommodation in one of the newly refurbished bedrooms, a seven course Boyne Valley tasting menu and a full Irish breakfast the following morning from €160.00 per person sharing. Or why not go for the ‘Wine, Dine & Stay’ option, from €200.00 per person sharing. (Offer valid for 26th June 2021; 22nd July 2021; 21st August 2021 and 17th September 2021.)
