Boyne Valley Tourism launched its 2022 campaign with three new videos ‘Where the Adventure Begins’ The three videos will take you on an adventure through the oldest and most historical landscape in Ireland; the Boyne Valley. It will give you holiday inspiration for families and couples. After two years of lockdowns, 2022 is the year to begin your new adventure, by visiting the Boyne Valley in County Meath.

There is plenty to see and do in 2022 from breath-taking landscapes to rolling countryside and waterways. The Boyne Valley was named as one of the ‘World’s Best Food Destinations’, so you won’t be short of great places to eat.”  

“This summer, the much-loved Causey Ice Cream Adventure returns, tours of Slane Castle, and Loughcrew Wildlife month is February. There will be racing at Navan, Fairyhouse, Bellewstown and on Laytown Strand.

Nathan Carter and Mike Denver Appearing At Moynalty Country Festival

 Moynalty Country Music Festival takes place on the 26 June featuring Mike Denver and Nathan Carter. There are also exciting things planned for the coming years with the Boyne Valley to Lakelands County Greenway currently in developmen. This will result in a 30km walkers’ and cyclists’ paradise along the route of the old railway line. The route also includes the recently completed looped section at Nobber and another at Castletown Kilpatrick.”

Young children will be kept entertained at Causey Farm Ice Cream Adventure. New for this year are  the Irish Foclóir stories. They can listen to the myths and legends of Irish heroes’ including Thenn and the Salmon, Cú Chulainn & Oisín and Tír na nÓg. After visiting the animals, finish your visit with an ice cream.

There is nothing quite like fresh country air to help you unwind. Take a trip to the town of Trim and enjoy a walk around Trim Castle. You can also experience Trim Castle River Walk. This tranquil river walk begins at Trim Castle and finishes at the ruins of the 13th century town of Newtown. It provides a glimpse of life in Trim in the Middle Ages. It is about 30 minutes along well marked pathways.

You won’t forget your trip to the Boyne Valley. The region, despite having a small coastline, also has some wonderful beaches including Baltray, Seapoint, Laytown and Bettystown.
