Ballynahinch Castle Hotel in County Galway has a member of the prestigious family of landmark Relais & Châteaux properties. It is just the 6th property in Ireland to join this international association, and one of only nine new members worldwide, including the only one in Ireland to be announced this year.

“The UK and Ireland delegation is delighted to welcome Ballynahinch Castle to our collection of landmark hotels and restaurants.” says Michael Caines MBE, Relais & Châteaux Delegate for UK & Ireland and chef/patron of Lympstone Manor in Devon, also a member of the association.

“All Relais & Châteaux members are committed to offering hospitality in unique places, and each member property is the living expression of a place — its history, environment and culture.

“We look forward to the opportunity of introducing our gorgeous setting in the heart of Connemara, our interesting history, our excellent food and drink and our tradition of hospitality to many more guests through our Relais & Châteaux membership.”

Relais & Châteaux

Established in 1954, Relais & Châteaux is an association of more than 580 landmark hotels and restaurants operated by independent innkeepers, chefs and owners who share a passion for authenticity in countless extraordinary destinations.

It has member properties in 67 countries – from the Napa Valley vineyards and French Provence to the beaches of the Indian Ocean.

Properties are selected for inclusion for their “sheer diversity and uniqueness,” according to the association.

“Defined by the values it shares with its members throughout the world, Relais & Châteaux is all about authenticity and excellence — in food, in experience, and in culture.”
