Ask Joan: Due to a number of personal reasons and not just the pandemic, I have found the past year very stressful and would love to get away in Ireland to clear my head, think and maybe meditate.  SD, Galway.

The past year or so has been very stressful for many people and I am sure you are not alone in how you feel. It has in some cases brought personal issues to a head and led to many people feeling stressed and in need of peace.

There are many reports on how getting out in nature and among trees and wildlife is very beneficial to how we feel emotionally and physically. Yoga is also a good way to relax and help you meditate.

The Burren Yoga Retreat has been in existence since 1999 and have used the lockdown period to totally transform the premises.  The brand-new state of the art buildings are modern, spacious and very safe. The Burren is a beautiful place and there will be an opportunity to explore the unique landscape.

There are courses all year and the course with Claudia Gutierrez, Loving Care and Meditation may be something that may help you.  The Burren Yoga Retreat courses are fully catered and include accommodation, guided yoga and retreats.  Depending on accommodation the prices are from €990 – €1,320 for six nights, Burren Yoga.
