This is your official reminder that Mother’s Day is taking place in Ireland on Sunday 10th March. By now you may be scrambling for presents or ideas for Mother’s Day activities. Don’t worry, travel2ireland’s got you! We’ve put together a guide of the top 5 things to do with your mam, from afternoon tea to the theatre or a winery tour, these activities will really make your mam feel special.

1. Brunch in Beef and Lobster

Brunch and Mimosas go together like pancakes and syrup and one of the best bottomless brunches in Ireland is in Beef and Lobster. Beef and Lobster has two locations, one in Dublin and one in Galway and hosts bottomless brunch on Saturdays and Sundays from 12-4 pm. Brunch is a great idea for Mother’s Day as you’ll have 1hr and 45 minutes of all the mimosas or bellinis you can drink while enjoying food from land and sea. My personal favourite is the duck wings to start and then the chicken and waffle for main, they just taste incredible. Bottomless Boozy Brunch costs €23, you must order a main mail and you can book here.

2. Afternoon Tea in The Iveagh Garden Hotel

Picture this: indulging in delicate finger sandwiches, delectable pastries, and freshly baked scones, all while sipping on fragrant teas in the lush, tranquil surroundings of the Iveagh Garden Hotel. There is something special about relaxing in a cosy and luxurious setting while enjoying laughter, delightful conversations, and the occasional clinking of teacups. The Iveagh Garden Hotel have a special offer for Mother’s Day for €52 which includes a glass of prosecco or a Malfy gin cocktail accompanied by live harp music. Book this experience here. Don’t worry if you don’t live in Dublin, the benefit of this option is it’s a hotel, so there are plenty of accommodation options. You can book a stay at the Iveagh Garden Hotel here.

3. See a Show at the Bord Gáis Energy Theatre

I always forget how much seeing live productions. Stepping into the theatre is like entering a magical portal where stories come to life before your eyes. The anticipation builds as the lights dim, the curtain rises, and the stage comes alive with captivating performances. I recently went to see Sister Act in the Bord Gáis Energy Theatre and it was nothing short of spectacular. From musicals to opera, comedy or even live podcasts there’s always something great to see in the Bord Gais Energy Theatre. Shows I’d recommend booking this year are 12 Angry Men, Grease, Hamilton or my personal favourite Wicked. Tickets can be purchased through Ticketmaster.

4. Dinner in Pink Restaurant

I may be biased with this one as my favourite colour is pink, but who wouldn’t love a restaurant dedicated to the colour pink? Pink Restaurant on South William Street in Dublin offers a truly unique dining experience. For Mother’s Day Pink Restaurant has two special offers, lunch for €29.95 for 2 courses and dinner for €45 for three courses. No matter what you order I’d recommend the ‘heart breaker’ for dessert, it’s an aesthetically pleasing white chocolate mouse in the shape of a heart and tastes delicious. And remember, when in Pink, dress to impress as there are lots of photo opportunities for Instagram.

5. Wine Tour of Wicklow Way Winery

Looking for something a bit different this Mother’s Day? Did you know Wicklow has its own winery? Wicklow Way Wines are located just outside Newtownmountkennedy and make their own ‘berry wine’ from Irish berries. A wine tasting and winery tour normally costs €25 for one hour, but they have a special offer for Mother’s Day so a tour will only cost you €22.50 and can be booked here. This winery tour and tasting is a very unique Irish experience as they pair the three sustainable Móinéir berry wines with artisan cheese and you will get an exclusive tour with the founder Brett who will sweep you into the world of Móinéir Wines.

As Mother’s Day approaches, there are countless ways to celebrate and honour the special women in our lives. Whether it’s a heartfelt gesture, a thoughtful gift, a shared experience, or simply spending quality time together, the essence of this day lies in expressing gratitude and love. These activities will give you some ideas on what to do, but regardless of the specific plans, the most important thing is to show appreciation for our wonderful Mammys.
