40 New Tourism Websites For Ireland’s Hidden Heartlands

40 tourism businesses across Ireland’s Hidden Heartlands are unveiling new and improved websites.

All businesses were given funding and development support from Fáilte Ireland through their Website Development Programme.

Participating businesses were provided with a full digital audit of their website and funding of up to €40,000. They were also given training by digital marketers and one-to-one feedback.

The Website Improvement Programme (grant scheme) was launched in the summer of 2019. It was designed to improve the digital window of visitor experiences across Ireland’s Hidden Heartlands region.

Speaking about the program, several businesses have praised the grant for improving their website and digital presence.

Richie O’Hara, Baysports, Hodson Bay, Athlone, Co. Westmeath, said:

“The results were really exciting. The number of users for our website doubled from 53,667 to 118,862 in the 2020 season.

”Ireland’s Hidden Heartlands Website Improvement Programme also helped us with our covid compliance measures, rostering and staffing arrangements, and eliminating traffic peaks on a daily basis. ”
