What a Racket! – 4 of the Best Public Tennis Courts in Dublin

With Wimbledon just around the corner there is no better time to dust off that old tennis racket, glug down that Pimms and get back on the court!

We at travel2ireland have been on the hunt to find some of the best public tennis courts around Dublin. And, lo and behold, we found ’em!

1 – Herbert Park Tennis Courts – Herbert Park offers public access to 6 high-quality tennis courts located in Dublin 4. Bookings must be made in advance through the booking system on Herbertparktennis.ie it is possible to play during the day and at night, floodlight Tokens can be purchased Directly in Lolly and Cooks during Cafe opening hours. The courts are open 9am-9pm 7 days a week.

Cost per person for 1 hour

Adults – €6.50

Juniors – €3.50

OAP’S – €3.50

2 – Bushy Park Tennis & Padel Courts –  Bushy Park has 9 artificial grass tennis courts, including 3 artificial clay courts, and 4 lovely padel courts. Bushy Park Tennis offers both annual memberships and a pay & play option. The courts are open Monday-Friday 10am-10pm & Saturday-Sunday 9am-9pm.

3 – St Anne’s Park Tennis Club – St Anne’s Park Tennis Club, in Clontarf/Raheny, is a wonderful community tennis club nestled in the heart of Dublin 5. The club offers affordable membership options for families and individuals along with a pay & play option. The courts are open to the public Monday-Sunday from 9am-8pm.

4 – Malahide Golf & Tennis – Located close to Malahide Cricket Club at the Yellow Walls side of Malahide Castle’s grounds (close to Bridge Field car park, where the first hour of your visit is FREE), this facility has improved immeasurably over the years. As well as a nine-hole par-3 golf course and 18-hole pitch and putt facility, there are 5 hard court tennis courts open daily, 7 days a week.
