New series alert! The Travel2Ireland team will be visiting suburbs in Dublin and asking locals their favourite places to eat and drink. Our first destination? Ranelagh! Here are our top choices from the day.
Start the day off Strong at Una Bakery
Location: 116 Ranelagh
To prepare for the day full of delicious food ahead, we visited Una Bakery, a new contemporary neighbourhood bakery that is a drop-in drop-out spot, with standing room only.
Serving up a great selection of pastries, cookies, focaccia and sourdough bread alongside Imbibe coffee and teas, we enjoyed a coffee for just €3.60!
Fuel up for Lunch at Er Buchetto
Location: 71 Ranelagh Village
Er Buchetto calls itself a ‘piece of Italy in Dublin’, and it’s easy to see why! This is a cute little ‘purple place’ where you can expect to find authentic Italian coffee, fresh food and premium products, just the way you like it, along with a range of snacks and light meals.
Their team is composed of many Italians who bring their amazing energy and good mood to our environment, just so you can feel fully emerged on this beautiful culture, famous for its food and drinks. We enjoyed a delicious Pollo Supreme and a salad, accompanied by a fantastic atmosphere – not to mention, a full meal for just under €15.
Top it off with a Good Pint at Smyths of Ranelagh
Location: 6, R117
What better way to finish off the day than with a good pint? We were recommended Smyths of Ranelagh, an established Gastropub that aims to build community by providing drinks that bring people together and an atmosphere that is a hub for local entertainment!
Here. we paid €4.50 for a glass of Guinness and sat in their beer garden, one of the best in the city, with plenty of seating and sun.
