The Sandymount and Merrion Resident’s Committee (SAMRA) is curating a FREE event to mark the anniversary of the birth of W.B. Yeats next week.
Yeats was born in Sandymount in 1865, meaning he would have been 158 if he was, somehow, still alive.
This year also marks 100 years since Yeats was awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature
The hour-long event, at Sandymount Green, will feature poetry and readings from local residents; music and song from the ‘Sound of the Sea’ choir; and a tribute to the late Anthony Jordan, who initiated this annual local event.
