Red Bull’s long-running ‘Soundclash’ gig-with-a-difference/music battle show concept finally hits Ireland for the first time ever next month, rolling into the RDS on October 21.

Hot local hip-hop act Mango X Mathman – probably best-known for their pre-lockdown single Deep Blue and debut album Casual Work – take on a partnership comprising two of the hottest rising R&B voices on the Irish scene: Aby Coulibaly and Monjola.

Both partnerships will act as team captains or ‘crew leaders’, with a host of Dublin and Ireland’s finest new hip-hop and R&B talent also featuring throughout the night on each team.

The concept of Red Bull ‘Soundclash’ sees two artists or groups in a music battle on separate stages at each end of the same hall, looking to outperform each other in six rounds of musical exchanges. Crowd response is used as the judging mechanism to find a winner.

Red Bull has been running its ‘Soundclash’ series since 2006 and has brought it to more than 85 countries. Some legends have cropped up along the way, too, including Snoop Dogg and Ludacris.
