Voted as Ireland’s Best Halloween Experience and Europe’s Best Scream Park, the thrilling Halloween haunt returns to Dublin’s historic City Market on Mary Street for just over three weeks from 4th October-1st November 2024 with its biggest and most impressive event yet.

The original walk-through scare experience and Ireland’s only indoor scream park is celebrating an incredible 15 years this season. Each year it gets an innovative makeover as the creators continue to push the boundaries of fun and fear, and 2024 is expected to be the best yet so leave your wits at the door!

What’s On

The brand-new show ‘Village of Fear XV’ embodies everything that haunts your nightmares, with five thrilling new mazes, interactive secret rooms, an expanded Museum of Horrors, a food court, and an even larger Halloweentown.

It will have you laughing and screaming as you explore new mazes like ‘House of Little Red’, ‘Possession 1692’, ‘The Meat Market’ ‘Slappys Birthday BASH’ and ‘The Last Gas Station on The Left’.  You’ll meet unsavoury characters along the way including fan favourite Molly Mayhem just in time for the spooky season. No two experiences are ever the same.

The truly immersive experience lands you inside an expanded Victorian-themed Halloween Town – a festival village where Halloween is celebrated every day. You’ll be blown away by this year’s offering which includes more spooky shops in Halloweentown, like ‘Obscura’ antique and oddities shop, ‘White Witch Creations’, ‘Trick or Treat’ shop, and ‘Fall FM; in addition to street theatre with the House of Swag dance troupe and stage and circus performances.   There’s also a food court with Halloween-themed treats, tarot reading, and a temporary tattoo studio.

The little museum of horrors is also back and is the best spot to capture your Halloween selfies with an abundance of childhood monsters and cult horror movie props on display.

Known for its intricate design, theatrical immersiveness and innovative scares, the multi award winning Nightmare Realm promises an unforgettable experience that keeps fun and thrill-seekers coming back year on year.

Village of Fear XV is the biggest-ever build undertaken for the ambitious team behind the screams, Ireland’s Halloween experts Karl and Sylvia O’Connor, who pour immense thought and creativity into crafting new themes, storylines and mazes each year, ensuring that every visit offers something fresh and more horrifying than before. Popular with everyone over the ages of 13, the appeal grows year on year as Ireland continues to embrace Halloween as a holiday, a custom that in fact originated in Ireland. The Nightmare Realm is proud to continue the celebration of this ancient festival, bringing modern twists to old tales.

Purpose-built and operational only during the month of October, The Nightmare Realm has entertained thousands of Irish and international visitors over the years and has gained a reputation as one of the best Halloween extravaganza’s in the global haunt industry and a must-visit tourism destination for Halloween enthusiasts worldwide.  It has picked up multiple international awards including Europe’s Best Scream Park in 2023 and most recently ‘Most Immersive Indoor Scream Park 2024’, in addition to a host of national awards.

The Nightmare Realm has also gained a reputation as a celebrity hotspot with visitors such as Megan Fox, Machine Gun Kelly and Little Mix and stands proudly as Ireland’s home of Halloween.

Due to the frightening nature of the attraction, the age recommendation is 13+ for the regular show.  The City Market, at Mary’s Lane, Dublin 7 (also known as the former Fruit and Vegetable Market) is easily accessible – just a one-minute walk from the Four Courts Luas stop or a two-minute walk from Henry Street – perfect for anyone who wants to start their night out in Dublin with a trip to the Realm.
