Pride Events On at EPIC The Irish Emigration Museum!

It’s Pride month, and EPIC The Irish Emigration Museum have prepared some great events to educate and celebrate. Take a look at what’s on!

The Queer Irish Diaspora – In Partnership with Dublin Pride

  • Date: June 27th at 17.30
  • Location: Annie Moore Room
  • Price: €5.00

Have you ever wondered about the experiences of LGBTQ+ folks who emigrated from Ireland throughout history? What did they leave behind? What were they searching for in their new home? Join EPIC for a fascinating public presentation by Colm Molloy, Dublin Pride’s resident historian, archivist, and designer.

The event delves into the stories of Ireland’s queer diaspora, exploring the lives and experiences of those who left their homeland in search of acceptance, social equity, and community. You’ll journey through the ages, from the captivating tale of the Ladies of Llangollen to the experiences of 20th-century LGBTQ+ emigrants. The talk is just one of a series of events in their temporary exhibition, “Look Back to Look Forward: 50 Years of the Irish in Britain”.

Pride Month LGBTQ+ Tours

  • Dates: 1pm daily from June 20th – 29th
  • Location: EPIC The Irish Emigration Museum

Discover Ireland from the outside in, through the stories of the people who left and the culture they brought with them. Discuss Ireland’s LGBTQ+ past and present, considering the ways in which you as a visitor might interpret the museum’s stories on the basis of your own identity and experiences. Pre-booking essential as spaces are limited!
