Taylor Swift is nearly here! Playing 3 sold-out shows in the Aviva Stadium from Friday 28th to Sunday 30th, huge crowds are expected, with many fans now planning their trip to the stadium. Here is everything you need to know about getting to the Aviva Stadium, where you can park, what roads are closed, and what diversions are in place around Dublin on the days.
Unfortunately, traffic is a given over this coming weekend. Swifties are advised to allow at least 3 hours of travel time to and from the venue, as extra delays are expected because of a few coinciding events, meaning some 600,000 people will be on the move, going to and from these events, in addition to the normal demands on public transport. Here are all the events taking place over the weekend:
Events taking place
Events scheduled to take place that weekend include:
- Dublin Pride, which will attract some 100,000 attendees, and which will give rise to diversion of services in the city centre
- Three Taylor Swift concerts in Aviva, with a total of 150,000 fans expected
- Shania Twain in Malahide with 27,500 expected
- Flavours of Fingal in Newbridge House, Donabate with 130,000 expected over two days
- Longitude in Marlay Park, with 80,000 expected over two days
- All Ireland football quarter-finals over two days, with over 100,000 expected
- Saw Doctors in Fairview, with an expected attendance of 8,000
- Trinity Summer Series 28 Jun to 4 Jul 2024
As a result, public transport will be under strain, which will have an impact on some services.
Swifties are encouraged to walk, use public transport and private coach services rather than drive. Anyone attending is also advised to plan and book their return travel arrangement in advance to avoid getting stranded in the city.
Thankfully, there are still some options for parking in the city if you can’t use public transport. Here’s everything you need to know about getting to the Aviva, parking, and any public transport information.
