The 3rd annual Polish Wine Fest takes place this Saturday afternoon in Dublin.
The event – which promotes the best in Polish wine, cheese and local produce – takes place at The Fumbally Stables event space, on Fumbally Lane in the Liberties, on Saturday, April 6 at 1pm.
Poland has a long rich history of winemaking, dating back centuries. But, while most of its wine output used to range from the south of the country – around Lublin and beyond – these days wine production is commonplace across the entire country and Poland is becoming – along with the Czech Republic/Czechia – increasingly known and respected as a force in mainland European wine production.
The Polish Wine Fest team – led by founders and wine enthusiasts Maja Ignaczewska and Maggie Domaradzka – are now in their third consecutive year of this great event.
But, that’s not all. As well as the annual Dublin festival, Polish Wine Fest – the company – also hosts a number of other events during the year, including wine masterclasses, tastings and other events.
Anyone interested can stay tuned to the company’s website – www.polishwinefest.com – for further event details.
Featured Polish wines at this year’s event will include: Zodiak, Turnau, Kojder, Kamil Barczentewicz, Silesian, Piochockich, Niemczanska, Dom Janton, Vanellus, Moderna, Nizio Naturals, Dom Charbielin, Kosmos, Niewinne Siostry, and St Vincent (the last 5 being new additions this year!).
Irish brewer, Beara Bitters, will also be in attendance as will wine importers based in Ireland such as: Searsons Wine Merchants (Austrian wine), SIYP (German wine), Vinifinesse (Hungarian and Slovakian wine) and Wines Direct (Romanian and Slovenian wines).
