National Wax Museum, Westmoreland St.

This museum is right in the heart of Dublin city beside O’Connell Bridge. If you are young or old, a culture vulture or fun seeker, star struck or star studded. The National Wax Museum Plus is a fun and interactive experience for all ages. There is so much to see here from history, archaeology, science, entertainment and more. Step through the Mirror Maze to the Hall of Fame. Children will love the Kids Zone with some of their favourite characters and a fluorescent fantasy forest. Watch out for the Chamber of Horrors you might get a scare. A perfect midterm treat. Family tickets from €45.

Nitro Stunt Show – Leopardstown Race Course, Sunday 27 February 

Older children and teenagers will love this two-hour action-packed, high-octane stunt show by Motorshows Ireland. This is the first time it is happening in Ireland and promises to be very exciting. The stunt show features World Famous Guinness world record holder Terry Grant, Lee Bowers Stunt Biker. Also just confirmed top stunt Fmx team Bolddog, who featured on Britain’s Got Talent, will blow your mind with their impressive act. Taking place in Leopardstown Racecourse, tickets on sale from €20 children and €25 adults plus booking fee.

GoQuest – Carrickmines 

Test your family’s brain skills in the unique GoQuest Arena, especially if they like the Crystal Maze or the Cube. The indoor centre has 29 unique challenges and puzzles to solve, for older children and 21 for the under 13s. Everyone can take part in scoring points to move on to the next challenge. Finish up with pizzas or snacks in the on-site restaurant. Prices from €17.90 under 16s and €25, adults.

Learn to Bake and Cook at Airfield Estate, Rathfarnham

Young children and teenagers can take part in cooking classes in the Airfield Estate over the midterm. The hands-on baking workshop will be led by Chef Lisa Davies and students will learn how to bake some delicious sweet treats, including meringues and lemon slices, 24 February. 

The young chef class will see you making potato gnocchi with tomato sauce, baby spinach and some tasty chocolate chip energy bites, perfect for lunchboxes, 25 February.

Rainforest Adventure Golf – Dundrum

There is nothing like a bit of competition for a family day out playing indoor crazy golf. While away a few hours at Rainforest Golf and see who can do the best. There are two courses, the Mayan and the Aztec and mornings are generally quieter. Family tickets €30.
