Two of Ireland’s premier five-star hotel announced new appointments for General Managers. In hotel news, the Westin Hotel will have it’s first female General Manager. In Cork the Trigon Hotel group has appointed Carmel Lonergan as Director of Operations.
Hotel News: New Appointments at Westin, Powerscourt and Trigon Hotels
The Powerscourt Hotel Resort and Spa has announced the appointment of Eamonn Casey as General Manager of the five-star resort. Prior to graduating from Shannon College, Eamonn was selected to join the Marriott Graduate Development programme in 2003. After completing his college training, he began his hotel career working at various Marriott Properties in London, climbing the managerial ladder within the Food & Beverage division.
In 2010, Eamonn returned to Ireland to take-up a position as Director of Food & Beverage and Front of House Manager with 5* Shelbourne Dublin and in 2016 he took on his first General Manager position with flagship property five-star, The Westin, Dublin

The Westin Dublin Hotel New GM
Mr. Casey’s former position as GM at the Westin Hotel, Dublin will be filled by Joanne Dillon. A Roscommon native, Joanne brings a wealth of managerial experience, having most recently been General Manager at Dublin’s Trinity City Hotel, where she successfully oversaw several hotel expansions and refurbishments.
Joanne is very well suited to a busy city-centre hotel environment having developed her skillset at Hilton Kilmainham, FBD Hotels and the O’Callaghan Collection. Joanne also spent time building her career at the five-star luxury resort, the Fairmount Southampton Bermuda.

Trigon Hotels New Director of Operations
In Cork the Trigon Hotel Group has announced the appointment of Carmel Lonergan as Director of Group Operations. Properties in the Trigon Group include the Cork International, Cork Airport and the landmark Metropole hotels.
Tipperary native, Carmel Lonergan has extensive experience in the hospitality industry in Ireland and internationally. She began her career as a trainee manager at the Dunraven Arms Hotel, Adare. She graduated with Business in Hospitality Management from GMIT before moving to Grosvenor House in London. Carmel also spent time in the United States before returning to Ireland 15 years ago.
