Fiestaaaa! This Saturday March 1st the National Stadium will explode with colour, flavour and all things Brazil as Carnaval Dublin takes centre stage! Here’s everything that’s on during the event – costume competitions, dance performances and delicious food being just the beginning…
Brought to you by the party masterminds at Real Events, Carnaval Dublin is here to prove that the Irish can samba—at least after a few caipirinhas.
What’s On? Everything.
Live Music
If there’s one thing Brazil does well (aside from football, beaches, and ridiculously good barbeque), it’s music. And Carnaval Dublin is bringing the best of the best. Get ready for:
- 353 Samba Club – Masters of high-energy samba, these drummers will get you moving before you even realise it.
- Luana Matos Axé Band – Brazilian beats with a twist of Afro-Caribbean rhythms.
- Morro16 – A band that puts Brazilian funk, samba, and reggae into one big party mix.

Samba, Drumming & Dance Performances
- Maracatu Ilha Brilhante – Bringing Afro-Brazilian beats.
- Rio Soul Samba – Dublin’s own slice of Rio, delivering full-throttle samba performances.
- Jassy Lins & Drop Studios – Some intense movies and infectious energy!
- Benfatti Dance – Pure Brazilian magic with some pretty intricate footwork.
DJ Sets
Need a break from dancing? DJ Magrinho and DJ Samuuh will make sure that thought disappears real quick. They’ll be spinning a mix of samba, reggaeton, baile funk, and Latin beats that will send you straight to Copacabana Beach (minus the sunburn).
Food, Drinks & Feathers
- Street food stalls packed with Brazilian flavours— crispy coxinhas, cheesy pão de queijo, and feijoada.
- Caipirinhas, cocktails, and more—because a proper Carnaval requires a drink in hand.
- Costumes—feathers, sequins, and the occasional body paint masterpiece. Feel free to go all out, especially for the competition, where the best individual will receive €100 and best group costume prize €200! Look out for the official photographer on the day and get your photo taken. They’ll select their favourite costumes and do a poll on Instagram to find the winner.
