Irish metal fans can finally get to judge for themselves if the controversial and divisive rebirth of Pantera – without late lamented members Dimebag Darrell and Vinnie Paul – is worth the hype, when the legendary Texan metal outfit hits Dublin on its first European Tour in nearly a quarter of a century early next year.
The 2020 ‘reformed’ touring line-up of vocalist Phil Anselmo; bassist Rex Brown; former Ozzy Osbourne and Black Label Society guitarist Zakk Wylde and Anthrax drummer Charlie Benante will play Dublin’s 3Arena on February 21, as part of a UK & Ireland tour which also stops off at Glasgow, Leeds, Birmingham and London.
Before all that, the band hits the UK this weekend to headline one of the night’s at this year’s Download Festival at Donington Park.
