With the newest variant of Covid-19, Omicron, taking a hold of Ireland this Christmas, many gigs are beginning to get cancelled or rescheduled. Despite the bad news for these acts and fans, there are still some gigs managing to pull through and go ahead. Here are five shows still happening this festive season.

Picture This at the INEC Arena

‘Picture This’ will be playing the INEC Arena in Kilarney for four nights running from the 16 December to the 19 December.

‘Picture This’ is an Irish pop-rock musical band based in Athy, County Kildare, Ireland. The band is made up of Ryan Hennessy, Jimmy Rainsford, Owen Cardiff and Cliff Deane. Attending the gig you will hear some of their popular songs like ‘Take My Hand’, ‘Unconditional’ and ‘Addict of Magic’.

Aslan at the INEC Arena and Vicar Street

Aslan will be playing at the INEC Arena in Killarney for just one night on 21 December. They will also be making their way to Dublin playing Vicar Street on the 27,29 and 30 December.

Aslan is an Irish rock band from Dublin that formed in 1982. The members of the band are Christy Dignam, Joe Jewell, Billy McGuinness, Alan Downey and Rodney O’Brien. Aslan is no doubt, one of the most famous bands to come out of Ireland. Attending the gig you will hear some classics such as ‘Crazy World’ and ‘This Is’.

Bronagh Gallagher at the Pepper Canister Church

Bronagh Gallagher will be playing at the Pepper Canister Church in Dublin on 23 December this year.

Bronagh Gallagher is an Irish-born singer and actress. At 17 years of age, Bronagh was cast as Bernie McGloughlin in ‘The Commitments’, one of Irelands most beloved musical films. Bronagh has also released three albums so her discography goes a lot deeper than her hits with ‘The Commitments’. Expect lots of variety and fun at Bronagh’s show.

Paddy Casey at the Maritime Hotel and INEC Arena

Paddy Casey will be playing the Maritime Hotel in Bantry on 17 of December and the INEC Arena on 18 December.

As one of Ireland’s most acclaimed live artists, Paddy has headlined Irish festivals, Dublin Castle, played a week-long residency in the Olympia Theatre, performed his own headline concert in the RDS, has supported many top names worldwide including U2 and played live on The Late Show with David Letterman. Paddy also plays his classics such as ‘Saints & Sinners’ and ‘Sweet Suburban Sky’.

Gavin James at Dublin Castle

On 1 January 2022, Gavin James will be introducing us to the New Year and treating us to a spectacular show in Dublin Castle for the New Year’s Day Concert.

Gavin James is without a doubt one of Ireland’s top artists at the moment. Having over 1.5 billion streams on Spotify and having sell out shows with the likes of Niall Horan, Sam Smith and Ed Sheeran there is no better man to lead us into 2022 with a great show. Hear some of Gavin’s hits like ‘Tired’, ‘Always’ and ‘City of Stars’
