Event Flow…Pearl Jam Tipped for 1st Irish Concert in 14 Years

Let’s just cut to the chase, with the breaking news. The mighty Pearl Jam are HEAVILY rumoured to be Ireland bound in 2024, which would mark their first gigs here (not counting Eddie Vedder solo shows) since 2010.

With Coldplay, Taylor Swift, The Killers, Bruce Springsteen, P!NK, Rammstein and Take That all on their way, 2024 is already set to be one of the busiest for Irish gig-goers.

And, it’s not just the mega gigs which are getting the juices flowing; there are plenty of smaller golden nuggets on offer also. Next year’s Trinity College Dublin concert series has some real doozies – among them, Manic Street Preachers and Suede on one bill, and a first Irish headlining appearance for Jane’s Addiction.

On top of that, we have Crowded House; Green Day; Pixies returning for gigs in Dublin and Galway; and drone/ambient/doom extreme noise merchants Sunn O))) making their first Irish appearance in 7 years. There is also hot talk of AC/DC slotting in a Dublin date on their strongly rumoured 50th Anniversary World Tour; possibly either at Slane Castle or Croke Park.

But, the inclusion of Pearl Jam on the list would be the cherry on the icing on the cake. The rumours are that June 22 – or thereabouts – would be the probable time of year. Currently, the band has confirmed two European festival shows – one in Madrid on July 11 and one in Lisbon on July 13.

The talk is of a few more mainland European shows – Berlin and Amsterdam among them – before a brief UK and Ireland stopover taking in London, Manchester and Dublin.

In regards to Dublin, the venue would probably be either Marlay Park or Malahide Castle.
