It’s Dublin Pride Festivals Golden Jubilee! Dublin Pride is celebrating its 50th anniversary, and the festivities planned are set to make this years event unforgettable. The festival is running from June 20th-29th, with the Parade scheduled on the 26th of June.

Since the first Pride demonstration that took place in June of 1974 with a small group of activists, Dublin Pride has grown to be a huge celebration, with over 60,000 people in attendance last year. This year, a record breaking number of attendants is expected.

The theme for this years Pride celebration is SHINE. As explained by Dublin Pride organisers, shine means to give forth light, but it also means to cast light into dark places, or to restore the brilliance of things that have gotten dull. Pride celebrates the light we all hold, but it is brightest when it is shared.

They invite you to shine, both in your own pride, and to be a light for those who may be in the dark right now!

What’s On

SHINE – The Concert

An event organised in partnership with the RTÉ Concert Orchestra, SHINE will be a glittering evening of celebration and reflection marking 50 years since Ireland’s first Pride.

The Concert will be held at the National Concert Hall on June 20, and will be an evening full of genre-filled music, including film scores, opera, and the best of national and international pop culture, performed by members of the community and allies, which will take attendants on a thought-provoking journey.

With sing-along moments of pride, community and humanity, join artists including Shobsy, Wallis Bird, Susan McFadden and Killian Fitzgerald, put on your sequins, and get ready to shine!

Tickets for the SHINE Concert are available here.
