The Boyne Valley has long been considered the home of Halloween. According to legend, Samhain, the ancient Celtic Festival that we now call Halloween, originated at Tlachtga (also known as the Hill of Ward) in Co. Meath in the Boyne Valley!

This year’s line-up is full of exciting (and scary) events and activities that will definitely appeal to all age groups.
One of the highlights of the Spirits of Meath Festival is always Farmaphobia at Causey Farm which will take place from the 1st October to the 1st November. The event is always very popular and features a variety of spooktacular events. Last year the event featured “Purge Night”; “CarnEvil” and “Momma’s Murder Maize” so you can be sure of plenty of scaretainment this year! Farmaphobia is strictly 13+ and all 13-16 year olds must accompanied on site by an adult.
On selected dates between Saturday 23rd October and Wednesday 2nd November, Bee Wise Nature Trail at Kilmessan will be doing a specially themed Halloween walk where you can visit different scary houses and meet some witches, ghosts and skeletons while receiving some treats from their cauldrons! Do you want to carve your own pumpkin? Then you won’t want to miss Pumpkin and Fun 2022 which will take place at Navan Adventure Centre on October 22nd, 23rd, 29th, 30th and 31st. This Halloween, you can explore Tayto Park after dark! On the 28th, 29th or 30th of October take a trip to Tayto Park to experience the Cú Chulainn Coaster in the dark, brave the Rotator or take to the night sky on Endeavour and much more! Of course it wouldn’t be Halloween without the Púca Festival, which is returning from the 28th – 31st October in various locations across Trim and Athboy.
