‘Paddy’s Day’ is almost upon us and promises to be an event not to be missed! This year’s Parade is the most ambitious yet, featuring more pageants, participants, and entertainment to delight the half a million spectators expected to line the streets of the Capital. The Parade’s theme, ‘Spréach’, embodies the unique essence of Ireland and its people, celebrating what sets us apart and brings us together.

Expect to be entertained by 18 dazzling pageants and performance showpieces, each exploring different interpretations of Spréach. From the glint of craic in the eye to the flame of creativity celebrated through Ireland’s writers, poets, musicians, and artists, the Parade showcases the diverse facets of Irish life and culture. Keep an eye out for collaborations with renowned pageant companies like Bui Bolg, Spraoi, and Inishowen Carnival, as well as special performances by the North-East Inner-City Partnership (NEIC) highlighting Dublin’s inner city heritage.

Diversity and sustainability are integral to this year’s Parade, with participants representing various backgrounds and interests. Joining the festivities are 14 marching bands from Ireland, North America, and France, infusing the Parade with dynamic rhythm and energy. With over 4,000 participants, including performers, artists, and creatives, the Parade is a vibrant celebration of Irish talent and spirit.

The parade starts at Parnell Square and the route moves down O’Connell Street; crosses the O’Connell Bridge; continues down Westmoreland Street; turns down Dame Street; moves down Nicolas Street and Patrick Street; then follows Kevin Street and ends at Wexford Street right before St. Stephen’s Green.

For those unable to attend in person, the full Parade will be broadcast nationally live on RTÉ One and streamed worldwide on RTÉ Player, ensuring that the joy and spectacle of the event can be experienced globally. Beyond the Parade, explore other St. Patrick’s Festival events happening across Dublin, from traditional music sessions to cultural exhibitions, there’s something for everyone to enjoy and celebrate Irish heritage and culture.

Spread the cheer of St. Patrick’s Day with friends and family, whether you’re watching from a distance or the sidelines. Get into the Spréach mood. Make sure to check the official St. Patrick’s Festival website and social media outlets for updates on the Parade and event schedule.
