Look, we’ll be honest—Carlow isn’t exactly the first place that springs to mind when you think of an exciting Irish getaway. It’s not Dublin, it’s not Galway, and it’s certainly not the Wild Atlantic Way. But for a county that often flies under the radar, Carlow does have a surprising amount going for it. From ancient dolmens to romantic gardens, riverside walks to contemporary art, there’s enough here to keep you entertained—at least for a little while.
