Roisín Dubh, Dominick Street Upper

This is a trendy little spot with a whole load of character. Roisín Dubh is a favourite among locals and visitors alike, and it’s not hard to see why. The pub doubles as a music venue and comedy club, with a programme filled with exciting events, including some fabulous traditional Irish acts that are sure to get your feet moving.

Tig Cóilí, Mainguard Street

Tig Cóilí is as traditional as they come, and it’s the perfect spot for a classic Irish welcome in Galway’s lively Latin Quarter. Serving its very own IPA among a menu of pub favourites, there’s something for everyone. The pub hosts traditional music sessions twice daily, so there’s always an excuse to pop in and enjoy the craic.

The Crane Bar, Sea Road

This is another fantastic pub in the heart of the city, and is one of Galway’s most popular traditional music pubs. The Crane Bar offers music every night – not only in the main bar, but also upstairs in its own intimate music venue.

Upstairs at The Crane Bar seats up to 70 people, and hosts regular concerts, ranging from singer/songwriters to traditional music sessions. The venue is better known as ‘The Listeners Club’, and welcomes acts from all over for visitors to enjoy.

Taaffes Bar, Shop Street

This is another bar bringing life to the Latin Quarter, providing great food, drink and traditional music for over 20 years. Taaffes Bar hosts trad sessions twice daily, so no matter what time of the week you’re visiting, you can pop in for a jig. Taaffes also claims to sell the “best pint of Guinness in the city”; why not head in and decide for yourself?

The Quays, Quay Lane

This traditional pub and music bar has been welcoming visitors from all over for almost 400 years. The Quays Bar and Music Hall is a fantastic space, full of life and creamy pints. During the summer months, the Music Hall is open seven nights a week to showcase the talent of both local and international acts.
