Food at Hang Dai

Don’t let the Hawker Street Food Stall at the front fool you, hidden behind the colourful ribbons is Hang Dai. Inspired by Blade Runner and John Carpenter movies(with a touch of Deadwood), Hang Dai is a futuristic, retro, fun, contemporary Chinese/Asian restaurant and music bar. With a wood-fired traditional Chinese oven taking centre stage, Chinese dishes like Beijing Roast Duck and Mapo Tofu are always present. Whilst Hang Dai stay true to some traditional Chinese recipes, their approach is always playful and they tend to merge various Asian cuisines, using high-end local ingredients.

Even though Roast Duck and Dumpling are the main squeezes, the music and cocktails are no mere side hustle. A custom-built sound system, DJ booth and acoustically treated room mean that after dinner service DJ’s belt out tunes until the early hours with a carefully constructed cocktail menu in tow.

Hang Dai is now fully open for everybody with indoor and outdoor dining options. The famous main restaurant on the ground floor has been adapted to meet the current guidelines but without losing its slick design. Hang Dai has installed partitions, social distancing and a high-end air-conditioning system that keeps the air fresh at all times.

Hang Dai also offer the full menu upstairs in the Gold Bar which offers a more intimate dining experience. If it’s outdoor dining you are after they also have the sunny terrace which sits outside the Gold Bar. It gets the sun when the weather is good and is fully weatherproof and heated for those chiller evenings.
