As we gear up for the festive season ahead, everything that is associated with Christmas is making an appearance. Christmas markets, pop-ups, Santa experiences, and more. It’s no wonder then that the Coca-Cola truck is going to be in Dublin next month. We know there’s still time but it’s better to book the slots in advance and make sure that you have one that suits you. We will give you all the details, but did you know that it was in 1995 that the first Coca‑Cola Christmas trucks made their appearance? Back then, they were known by the moniker ‘Christmas Caravans’. About 30,000 bulbs lit up the trucks, and there were also special effects – none other than the famous Industrial Light and Magic were entrusted with this job. This company was also behind the Star Wars and Indiana Jones films.
Fascinating, isn’t it? How Coca-Cola, Christmas and the iconic ‘truck’ came to be associated with each other? So, here are the details as promised. The truck will be at RDS, Simmonscourt, from Thursday 8th December until Saturday 10th December. The event is free to attend, and on each day, there will have two sessions to choose from: Session 1: 2pm – 5pm and Session 2: 6:30pm – 9:30pm.
You will need to book the sessions, and you can get a maximum of 6 tickets per email address. Also, remember that while the event is free to attend, parking at the RDS is limited and works on a first come, first served basis. The parking is priced at €7 per car.
Apart from the iconic truck, there will also be local food vendors, fun festive experiences and music.
You can book a session from the Eventbrite link here.
