Over the past few weeks, we’ve been faithfully updating you with all the Christmas related events and celebrations planned for Dublin as also for the rest of Ireland. Our stories and social media content have brought you up to speed with the festive lighting, window displays, pop-up events, pub crawls and all the special performances and fairs. We’ve always believed that Dublin does Christmas proud, and now Condé Nast has put its seal of approval too!

Condé Nast Traveller says that Dublin is one of the top places in the world to celebrate the Christmas season. This list puts together 32 best places to spend Christmas around the world, and it speaks glowingly of Dublin. Apart from pub crawls, and cosy bars, it makes a special mention of Christmas markets, decked-out shops on Grafton Street, and tree-lighting ceremonies. The winter lights in Dublin are indeed special; you know we covered how 16 locations around the city will have light installations this year, including a brand-new installation of the Viking boat.

The moving crib is also cited as one of the unique attractions that Dublin has to offer over Christmas. But our readers will know that you will also be able to get the live crib experience – this year, it’s at a new location and is bound to bring so much joy to children and everyone in the family. The live crib will ensure that a much-loved Christmas tradition is carried on, and that visitors will get to see a donkey, a goat and two sheep as part of the nativity scene.
